Don’t Miss Our NEW Dog Coloring Books!

Share with fellow dog lovers!

I’m really excited to share a project we’ve been working on this year: the launch of our new line of coloring books!

Many years ago, we had a coloring book that has since gone out of print so ever since then we’ve been looking at a way to get back in the coloring book market, and now we’ve found it. We just launched Doodlebug Publishing and the first seven coloring books in our growing line including these dog titles available on Amazon:

Relaxing Dog Coloring Book: Grab your favorite colored pencils, gel markers or crayons to relax and enjoy coloring dogs in a variety of settings.

Dog Walking Coloring Book: Take a virtual dog walk through scenic countrysides, quaint villages, seaside getaways and famous locales.

Passport to Pugs Coloring Book: No passport required for this global getaway of Pugs enjoying locations around the world.

Dogs on Computers Coloring Book: This book features a whimsical look at just what would it be like if dogs had their own computers!

Each dog coloring sheet has a blank back so you don’t need to worry about markers bleeding onto the reverse image.

Why Coloring is Relaxing

In today’s busy and stressful world, more and more people are turning to relaxing activities to quiet their mind–and to enjoy some digital detox for a few hours.

Coloring offers a unique blend of creative expression and mindfulness that many find relaxing. This activity, once associated with children, has gained popularity among adults for its therapeutic benefits. The reasons behind its calming effect are multifaceted, involving psychological, neurological, and emotional components.

Firstly, coloring demands focus and attention to detail, drawing individuals away from daily stresses and into the moment. This focus on the present–much like our dogs enjoy in their daily life–helps to decrease anxiety and stress.

The repetitive motion of coloring can also lead to a meditative state, reducing the activity in the amygdala, the brain’s emotional center responsible for stress and anxiety. This shift in brain activity promotes a state of calmness, making coloring an accessible form of relaxation and stress reduction.

Additionally, coloring images of dogs or other pleasant subjects can evoke positive emotional responses. We all know that dogs, in particular, are associated with companionship, loyalty, and happiness. Engaging with these images through coloring can stimulate feelings of joy and contentment, further enhancing the relaxing experience.

The act of choosing colors and filling in the spaces allows for personal expression and creativity, offering a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction upon completing the image. This creative process can boost self-esteem and provide a break from routine, offering a mental rest.

Furthermore, coloring can facilitate a disconnect from technology and digital screens, which are often sources of stress and overstimulation. The tactile experience of coloring with physical materials like pencils or markers engages the senses in a different way, providing a grounding experience that can be soothing.

Whether you are looking for a restful, mindful activity for you or a fellow dog lover, we hope you’ll check out our growing collection of coloring books!
